The Newsroom

I spent 11 years in broadcast journalism as an investigative reporter, anchor, videographer, and storyteller. Five solo-produced documentaries and two Edward R. Murrow Awards.

I learned to walk into unfamiliar environments, understand complicated subjects quickly, ask the right questions, and turn what I found into compelling, accurate stories. I operated independently, handling everything from research and interviews to storyboarding, camera work, production, and editing.

That experience eventually extended into corporate and federal communications, including field production supporting the U.S. Forest Service and other organizations requiring professional storytelling in complex environments.

The Brokerage

I'm also a licensed real estate broker-in-charge and auctioneer who built and operates a successful independent brokerage across residential, commercial, new construction and auction transactions.

I've negotiated complex real estate transactions, marketed distinctive properties, worked directly with builders, investors, contractors and trades, and guided clients through decisions involving substantial financial stakes.

I understand what it means to run a business and be accountable for results.

Where Those Worlds Meet

I founded First Response Media to bring those experiences together.

Today, I provide independent field communications and media production for companies whose projects extend beyond their headquarters.

I can travel to a job site, interview an executive or construction superintendent, produce professional video and photography, attend a public meeting, investigate an emerging issue, work with the media and deliver organized, useful information directly to a communications team.

I understand how to find the story, how to tell it, and why it matters to the business paying for it.
